If you're contemplating elopement, there's a few different ways to go about it.
Firstly, City Hall. The quick, easy, and old-fashioned way to tie the knot. Now, if you're in San Francisco's City Hall (which is just plain amazing looking), that's one thing, it's completely different if you're in a small town with a City Hall that's adorned with 1970's shag carpet and wood planked walls. Ok OK, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point. If that's the case for you, I'd still highly recommend hiring a photographer for not only the vows, but to capture a little First Look and/or shoot with the two of you after the nuptials. Just because you choose a City Hall wedding doesn't mean you don't deserve totally amazing photos!
Secondly, maybe Vegas is your thing. If that's the case, can you even IMAGINE an amazing session with you and your (soon-to-be or new husband) in the heart of Vegas?! Omg. All I can think is how much fun that would be. Regardless if you're wearing a big fancy gown or just a cute little sundress, it would be a magical session to say the least.
And thirdly, you can take the route of getting eloped at a special or unique place of your choosing. Here in Utah, I've had several couples choose to do an elopement in the mountains, or, in Heather + Simon's case, on TOP of a mountain. I think they already know, but their incredible elopement last July was something I'll never forget. They took me up to Hidden Peak (11,000 feet elevation) to say their I Do's. I use the word "magical" a lot, I know, but it was MAGICAL!
Here in Utah we have so many different settings and opportunities to capture amazing photographs. Everything from water to mountain (and mountaintops) to sand and desert and incredible rock formations! I could go on and on but you get my drift.
If you're taking the elopement route, consider hiring a photographer (and an officiant of course if it's not a City Hall wedding), and capture some amazing memories on your big day.
