Pinterest + Your Wedding

I might break a lot of hearts by saying this, but girls, Pinterest SHOULD NOT be your wedding bible! In certain aspects, that is.

I know, I know, how could I possibly say that? And while I desperately wish Pinterest existed when I was getting married, I'm telling you this from a photographer's standpoint. Now envision this.. you're headed to your engagement session with your photographer and have a big long list of must try Pinterest poses you've spent so much time pinning to your "My Dream Wedding Is Now A Reality" board. You arrive at your session, explain this scenario to your photographer and they will most likely help you recreate those fab photos and poses.. only.. they'll be just that, posed. Simulated poses without true emotion. I encourage you to be creative, free, and uninhibited in front of the camera. Create your very own "Pinterest worthy"photos by being yourself and taking the advice your photographer gives you to heart. Allow your photographer to be the artist they are. You may miss out on amazing images if you're just trying to recreate other couples poses.

There are few things more amazing to witness. True emotion, happiness, caught-in-the-moment type images are the ones you're going to remember. The ones that'll take you back to that place, that moment.
