What To Wear : Engagement Session Edition : Utah Wedding Photographer

I for one know how nerve wracking it can be when the time comes to pick what you're going to wear for engagements. I mean, only your nearest and dearest will see these photos, so no pressure. Totally kidding! But seriously, one of the biggest pieces of advice I can give is, DON'T STRESS. Keep in mind there is more to life than what you wear to your engagement session, so it's not the end of the world if you can't find the right shade of peach, haha! Here are some more tips..

*Don't wear black unless it's a fabric that doesn't hold lint/hair like a magnet.
*Don't match your fiancé. For the love. No jeans and white tee shirts please! Get creative, have fun, mix and COORDINATE with your fiancé rather than match them.
*Pick a color combo. And stick to it. Pick 2-3 neutral colors and mix them around to create the perfect outfits. If you want to throw in a bright color or two, by all means! But gently stir it into the pot of neutral colors. If you have your heart set on a crimson tea length dress, that is totally ok! Just have your fiancé wear more neutrals to mix well with your brightness.
*Don't wear mega high heels if we're shooting at a location that requires hiking, walking on super uneven ground, or slippery locations (like in winter). Trust me, it's not worth it! Find some cute shoes that'll be functional AND look gorgeous! Promise they are out there. ;)
*Take into account where we are shooting your session. You'll want to mix well with the surroundings.
*Consider having your hair and makeup professionally done, girls! Contact my faves Kali Wengreen, Versa Artistry or Janelle Ingram. If you don't have them done professionally, just up your normal makeup coverage a bit to look photo-ready!

Now that you have some awesome tips to get you started, here are some couples who totally rocked their engagement session outfits to give you some inspiration!
