If you're newly engaged and reading this,
CONGRATS! This is a topic I've wanted to touch on for quite a while.
First off, if your handsome new fiancé is a design extraordinaire and popped the question with a swoon worthy rock, then job well done! In
most cases, that won't be the situation. My hubby went to
Sierra West, picked out about 5 rings he thought I'd love, and proposed with a completely different ring that had meaning to both of us (but in no way would be considered an engagement ring). The next day, we went back to
Sierra West and they had, those same 5 he picked out, ready and waiting for my wedding hungry eyes to feast on.
With all the lights placed strategically, it makes you want to dive into the first ring you see.
But, take your time! Hang out, try them all on, and most importantly, discuss budget BEFORE heading to the jewelry store. Once you do pick out your perfect ring, here is my most important piece of advice and the thing you all have been waiting for.. GET IT INSURED. You have insurance on your car right? Your house or apartment? Your health and dental? Well, the answers to those should be yes, so it should come as no surprise to insure the little circle worth thousands that you'll be carrying around each and every day. You pay the premium once a year (or at least that's what we do) online or through the mail, and guess what? That's SUCH a huge piece of stress you'll never have to worry about. The hubby and I actually insured both of our rings, because well, it's worth it.
Happy Friday.
